Hobble breaking is probably one of the easiest & best things that you can do for any horse at any age. Notice the stiff leads that are on the colts; because the leads are stiff, they are unlikely to get wrapped around anything. The leads are left on for about a week after the colts arrive and they step on them hundreds of times, which gets them used to having their heads taken away from them so they don't panic & keeps them from hauling back when tied. That's just another simple thing that can help make good useful horses.
